The reason why the vacuum drying oven does not set the temperature uniformity parameter
Ordinary electric heating air convection drying ovens are all equipped with a temperature uniformity parameter: for natural convection ovens, it is 3% of the maximum operating temperature, and for forced convection ovens, it is 2.5% of the maximum operating temperature. However, electric heating vacuum drying ovens do not have a temperature uniformity parameter. Why is this? In a vacuum drying oven, the possibility of achieving temperature uniformity through the thermal movement of gases is almost non-existent. Therefore, conceptually, we cannot apply the temperature uniformity definition specified for general electric heating (air convection) ovens to vacuum drying ovens. Setting this parameter in a vacuum environment is also meaningless. The amount of thermal radiation is inversely proportional to the square of the distance. For the same object, the radiation heat received at a distance of 20 cm from the heating wall is only 1/4 of that received at a distance of 10 cm. The difference is very significant. This phenomenon is similar to the experience of sunbathing in winter, where the side exposed to the sun is warm while the side not exposed to the sun is relatively cold. Due to the structural difficulty in achieving uniform radiation heat at all points in the three-dimensional space of the vacuum drying oven, and the lack of authoritative assessment methods, this might be the reason why the temperature uniformity parameter is not set in the standard for electric heating vacuum drying ovens.
